Thailand won ‘Go Asia Best Travel Destination’ Award at the ITB in Germany.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that The Go Asia awards, for tourist boards and airlines from Southeast Asia as well as tour operators offering outstanding Asia programmes, were organized in cooperation with ‘Travel Talk’, a trade magazine. Travel agents from all over Germany were invited to participate in the voting process. National tourism organizations or tourist boards, airlines and tour operators participating in the Go Asia Awards faced up to the critical judging of travel clerks. Judges also voted for the most admired destination in Asia. The results of the fourth annual Go Asia awards were announced on 8 March at the International Tourism Bourse or ITB 2007 and the best service providers for travel to Asia were honoured. Thailand received the Go Asia Award in the ‘Best Travel Destination’ category while Thai Airways International, the national carrier, was ranked third best airline, behind Singapore Airlines and Emirates. The TAT ranked third in the ‘Best Tourism Board for Asia’ Award.
