National airline Oman Air said that the daily non-stop service will begin in November, bringing the total number of flights it operates between London and Muscat to seven a week. The service will depart from Muscat during afternoons and land at Gatwick at 20:30 GMT, with the return flight taking off at 22:30 GMT. Oman Air chief executive Ziad Bin Karim Al Haremi said that the new service, which comes as part of a long-haul expansion strategy for the carrier, will offer travellers an alternative departure point to Heathrow Airport. "We are pleased that our enhanced presence will provide travellers, particularly those in the Middle East, more convenient access to London," he added. Other airlines that run flights between London and Muscat
include Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, British Airways and Emirates. |
