Pro Surfers A Wave At Tungku

Professional international surfers are here to `catch a wave' after Brunei's weather hit a very wet and windy patch lately due to the after effects of Typhoon Kai Tok hitting Vietnam and the South China Sea.

Rizal Tanjung from Indonesia, Marlon Gerber from Indonesia and Mike Losness from California, USA went surfing at Tungku Beach yesterday.

"This is the first time we've surfed in Brunei, and we're hoping to promote Brunei as a surfing location for Surfing Magazine," said Rizal.

"However, we're quite disappointed with the outcome, as the waves only went up to three feet, and we're used to surfing on fifteen feet waves."

Mike Losness said that it was "worse than we expected".

Nate Lawrence, their photographer, said this could be due to the waves travelling for less time in the South China Sea.
