Taiwan travel has a little bit of everything

Taipei 101 is not the world's tallest building anymore. It was overtaken by the Burj Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in July, though it still remains the tallest skyscraper open to public. Taiwan, however, as its Portuguese name Formosa ("beautiful island") suggests, embraces various aesthetics of nature and life.

Those who have never traveled to Taiwan may have the idea that the country must look like somewhere in China. I wouldn't say "no" because China is such a vast country and there are so many regions I have never visited. I would say, though, their first encounter with the country would be beyond their expectations.

A three-to-four-day package trip to Taiwan organized by local travel agencies will include hot springs in Beitou or near Mount Yamgming (both located in Taipei), and Yehliu National Park, which is famous for its unique rock formations. Those are all worth visiting, but the country has interesting and dynamic combinations of sightseeing as unique as its history.

Taiwan may not be the world's most exciting country to visit, but it has a little bit of everything to satisfy the varied interests of tourists. Besides, it is comparatively close and cheap. What else can you expect?
