Nepal's Travel Trade Reaches Moscow
Nepal took part in the 15th Moscow International Travel and Tourism
Exhibition (MITT) from March 19 to 22 in Moscow. The participation was
facilitated by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in co-ordination with the
Nepali embassy in Moscow.
MITT is supposed to be the biggest and the most influential travel trade
show held in Russia every year and provides an opportunity for obtaining
market potential information, hearing opinions of business community
and interacting with influential Russian travel trade figures for business
tie-ups.
The Nepali travel trade companies were successful in signing up business
deals with the Russian travel business community, claimed a press release
issued here by NTB on Monday. The Nepali pavilion showcased the country's
iconic tourism products and were able to draw the attention of traders,
media and public. Around 40,000 visitors visited the pavilion during
the exhibition.
With a concentration of wealth and a population of 11 million, Moscow
offers a huge potential for the Nepali tourism industry. The Russian
tourists are considered one of the world's highest spenders.
The Nepali embassy in Moscow organised a reception programme for key
Russian travel business community, media and Nepali diaspora on March
22.
