Vietnam southern hub approves two major transport projects

The Ho Chi Minh City administration is set to invest US$46.6-million in two projects meant to improve intra-city transportation and connection with the Mekong Delta.

The city people’s committee – the administration – said the trans-provincial highway No.10 linking the city with the delta’s Long An province would be widened at a cost of $26 million.

The road upgrades to be completed by 2008 would help further develop industrial parks like Tan Tao and Vinh Loc in Binh Tan district, and Le Minh Xuan in Binh Chanh district.

A road linking the Phu My Bridge in district 2, now under construction, with Nguyen Van Linh Street in district 7 would be built at $20.6 million.

The road, to be completed in 2009, would facilitate travel on the city’s beltway No.2 connecting districts 2, 7, and 9.
